Experience the Great Alaska Outdoors with Spring Brown bear

This hunt speaks for itself.

The game management unit where we conduct our guided bear hunts along the Alaska Range boasts some of the highest densities of Alaska Brown Bear in the state. The bear population is so robust that the ADF&G has established a limit of TWO BROWN BEAR PER YEAR for hunters. Our success rate for these hunts exceeds 85%. Once we observe sufficient numbers of bears emerging from their dens during spring hunting in Alaska, we strategically position you in the field. In spring, the hides of brown bears are in prime condition; their long claws have not been worn down over the winter, and the sun hasn't yet bleached or rubbed their fur. We utilize spike tent camps situated near multiple known den sites, as well as in areas frequented by bears after they leave their dens.

Base Camp

You will fly into our base camp from Anchorage via air taxi, where you will enjoy all the comforts of home, including high-speed internet and home-style meals. Once enough Alaska Brown Bears have emerged, we will fly you into a spike-tent camp with your guide for your first night in the stunning Alaska Range mountains. Early the next morning marks the beginning of your thrilling Alaska Brown Bear hunt. Unfortunately, you will be on freeze-dried food until your return to base camp.

**CONDITIONS**

The snow is very deep, but it's spring snow. We utilize snowshoes for travel, and in recent years, there has been more favorable weather than unfavorable during mid to late April. Temperatures will range from 15°F to nearly 60°F. On a sunny day, it can feel as warm as 80°F. Snow conditions can vary from hard as a rock to soft and deep, depending on your location and the time of day. It's also common to spot Wolverine and Ptarmigan in the high elevation camps.

**BROWN BEARS**

Our Alaska Brown Bears range from 7 ft to over 10 ft. The elevations of our camp sites vary from 1,000 ft to close to 4,500 ft.

**WHAT TO BRING**

You will need your personal hunting gear suitable for the stated temperatures, along with a sleeping bag and bedroll. We can provide hunting whites and snowshoes as needed. A complete list of recommended gear and weight limits for your guided bear hunts will be provided.
